Collaboration with concept store 50m, designing for the future of retail. In this project, I have designed a product - knitted beads and a sustainable system which could be the future of making textile.
50m - Experience, the future of retail.
50m is a concept offering a new experience for both designer and customer. Devoted to supporting and showcasing emerging designers, providing them a platform to sell and present their collections. The store is a contemporary reference to the seminal ‘Kensington Market’, An indoor market well known for the unusual and alternative which provided a space for fashion brands, talent and subcultures to sell their collections from the 60s – 90s.
In keeping with its initial inspiration 50m is also an events and exhibition space that features a café and in house bar. The store aims to create a ‘Community’ for both customers and designers, presenting an ever evolving shopping ‘experience’. The space holds special events programmes and talks, workshops and performance hosted by creatives from all fields.
